This item in collection has an interesting provenance. It was originally in the home of Asher Odenwelder, a collector of American folk art in the 1940’s and 50’s. It was later in the collection of Deerfield Village. Deerfield Village sold it off as part of a sampling of tinware to raise money for other items to be added to their collection. We then acquired it from tinsmith and collector Ben Clarkson. It is a lovely example of green, yellow, and red on a white band over asphaltum.
