We had never seen a kettle breast stake before but knew what it was from seeing it listed in an obscure catalog from 1912.

An 1887 Pocock machine for bending sheet metal.  Similar to a pipe former but has the ability to open and close the rear bar by adjusting the lever on the teeth.

After many years attempting we finally acquired a Flanders Patent Circle Shear December 17, 1850, It was manufactured by Roys & Wilcox after 1852 because it includes East Berlin, Connecticut.  There is an 1852 patent number 8627 assigned to Flanders that lists Berlin Connecticut for a location of the firm. The patent is for turning up the edges of sheet metal disks

Whitney Bending Machine Patent dated Oct 20, 1868. There is an 1868 patent, and 1876 patent that was filed by a Pardon A. Whitney.

Our latest museum accession is a wooden bottom sheet iron folder. The only other example we have seen is at the recreated Stoddard Tinshop in Nauvoo IL.
